How to succeed... & how to get past the add to cart glitch

BestBuy restocks the PS5, Xbox Series X and Nvidia RTX Graphics Cards several times per month. I tweet whenever a retailer restocks, so if you’re quick, you will get to the page before they sell out… but will that be enough to get one?
So How Do BestBuy Drops Actually Work?
During a BestBuy drop, once you go to any product page and click “add to cart”, you are then put through a 3 step process before you can actually begin the checkout process.
Step 1: First, you are put into a waiting line. This wait can take up to 20 minutes (or more in some cases) if you’re successful, so once you’re in it, be patient. Refreshing your page will not cause you to lose your place.
Step 2: Once you get past the initial wait time, you will then be asked to verify yourself. To make this process easier, you should be signed into BestBuy prior to the restock. However, you may have to sign in again or have a one time verification code sent to you via email or text.
Step 3: After verification is complete, you then move on to selecting a store for pickup. This is where things can get sticky. Find yourself seeing “unavailable at this location” or “no store availability within 250 miles”? You’re not alone.
Here is the thing. These errors have shown up in my experience, even during the time I successfully purchased an Xbox Series X from BestBuy. So how do you get past this issue and actually add to cart so you can complete your purchase?
During the last drop, I decided to run a test for you so that I could duplicate my success during this glitch and accurately report back to you how to beat it!
How to Bypass BestBuy’s Add To Cart Glitch And Actually Score a Console
Essentially, during a Series X, Graphics Card, or PS5 restock drop, BestBuy’s website gets hammered with traffic. This slows down the checkout process for all of us as a whole.
To combat that, BestBuy releases stock in waves. In other words, it doesn’t all release instantly. Some is held back, incrementally, and released over a short period of time, normally 10-20 minutes or so. So what does that mean for you?
That means you have to be more persistent than ever to successfully purchase one! In my case, once I hit add to cart, I was placed in a waiting line. Once my time was up, I had to verify my account and was able to attempt to add to cart.
While trying to add to cart, I received the error “No store availability within 250 miles”.
This is where your persistence comes in. Refresh, add to cart again, try to choose store… rinse and repeat. Do this over and over until the product is sold out. After about 20-30 iterations of this, it added to cart and I was then able to checkout.
So here is a quick rundown of what to do during the next Walmart Restock

Wait in line until your wait time is up
Verify your account
Choose your Pickup Location
Checkout
If needed, refresh page + repeat steps 4-6!
Hopefully this will help the many of you that have done all of the right things on previous BestBuy drops but have been having trouble finding success.

There are a few key actions that can be done to increase your chances for success on any restock that happens.
Sign into each big retailer early each morning. Signing in during a drop can be a huge waste of time and can cost you your success as others checkout.
Have your payment set up and ready to go on each website. You don’t want to be scrambling and wasting time during a drop.
